Ahmed hassan ahmed is a technological technician in University of Bahrain, he started his job in 2005, And before that he works in Ministry of work and we had this conversation with him about E-commerce:











1- When have started your online business?
I have started in 2003 after graduation from university of Bahrain, and what helped us is we own a computers store , so I decided to buy through the internet.

2- How much profits have you made since you started?
In the first year I didn’t make the expected profit, but year follows our profits reached approximately 15000 B.D

3- What are the advantages of E-commerce?
the first is knowing all kind of new merchandises , getting them in a reasonable prices and last speed delivery.

4- What are the disadvantages of E-commerce?
The disadvantages of E-commerce are the plenty of fraud web sites and cunning that targets the new users of this business.

5- Have you ever been exposed to such fraud?
No, I haven’t, because of my studying I learned to be careful before making any deal.

6- How much does the e-commerce circulation in the world and in the Arabian countries reach?
the International e-commerce circulation reached 15 billion us $ according to BBC official web site. The Arabian reached only 5 millions us $.

7- What are reasons for this big difference between the western countries and Arabian?
The lack of awareness beside there are no internet service in most of the Arabian countries, moreover customs taxes that are imposed on imported goods.

8- Which country has the largest e-commerce circulation in the world?
For sure the US because of their capitalist system, considering the magnitude of their circulation where it reaches the amount of 4 billions $ every year.


9- What are the reasons behind the increase of the online fraud?
I believe that fraud situations are not individual but in the form of large organized group because their small income drives them to it.



10- Can international laws be established to prevent that kind of fraud?
No, it can't be done, internet is a wide cyber space and what is going in it can't be monitored by any authority.


11- Which sites do you recommend for online dealing ?
There are many safe websites that users can use like e-bay for example.


12- Can E-commerce be developed in Bahrain?
Yes it can be developed through spreading awareness among the public of the importance of E-commerce and reducing the customs taxes.

13- Do you anticipate any interaction between the citizens and the electronic government?
No I don’t, because most of the citizens and residents are not used to input their personal information through the internet but with time maybe they will get used to it.


14- What do you advice users who are involving in E-commerce?
a- being careful while any purchase transaction
b- making sure that the website is safe
c- not taking risk when doubt


15- What is your look to your business in the future?
I am very optimist about the future and I hope to expand my business to our neighbor countries.
